Alejandra Parra Parodi is a Colombian designer and artist based in New York. She completed her MFA at Parsons School of Design on a merit scholarship. She was a finalist for the 2024 CFDA Geoffrey Beene Design Masters Scholar Award, won the 2016 Arts of Foundation Masterclass in High Couture Techniques at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, and was selected for the 2025 Proenza Schouler x Gormek Institute Fashion Business Mentorship.
Growing up on the Caribbean Coast, Alejandra felt suspended between the sensorial pull of magical realism and the constraints of a conservative social structure. This tension shaped her gaze and drives her curiosity about how culture and context mold both collective and personal identity. She treats fashion as a means to reclaim agency. Her practice is rooted in Latin American rituals of body and dress, grounded in meticulous research, and built through local Colombian craftsmanship.
She is also the co-founder and creative director of Quā, a children’s brand reimagining gender and clothing through inclusivity and play.Alejandra Parra Parodi is a Colombian designer and artist based in New York.
