At the intersection of sculpture, design and digital storytelling, Aminata Mboup is a multidisciplinary artist materializing worlds that resonate across communities and platforms. Born in Dakar, Senegal, and based between Dakar and Toronto, she brings a distinctive afro-indigenous and futurist perspective to her work, shaping intentional stories exploring the cross between spiritual and cultural mindfulness.
Her practice is rooted in shaping vessels in sculpture, exploring how materiality, culture, and artisanal expressions intersect. Rooted in ideas of time and memory, she uses imagination as a bridge between the multiplicity, fluidity and transformation of the self in ancestral and contemporary experience. Alongside her personal practice, Aminata works as a creative director and collaborator with brands and cultural institutions including EADEM, Manju Journals, the Montreal Museum of African and Caribbean Art, and more, bringing her distinct visual language to projects that bridge art, fashion, and culture.
