Hasina Kamanzi is an Afrofuturist artist whose work explores Black cultures and identities through the fusion of science fiction, fantasy, and Afrocentric themes. Using the visual language of Afrofuturism, she reimagines the world through her art, creating new narratives that challenge the status quo. Her practice centers on empowering Black communities and inviting viewers to envision themselves in transformative ways that disrupt oppressive systems.

She explores themes of technology, time, and memory as they relate to the African diaspora. Drawing inspiration from the heritage of her Burundian ancestors, she creates work that honors the past while imagining liberatory futures. Through this approach, her art bridges memory and possibility, using speculative storytelling and visual symbolism to reflect on identity, resilience, and collective imagination.
