Kimberly Ortega is an Ecuadorian interdisciplinary artist and fashion designer whose work blends traditional Andean craftsmanship with experimental, contemporary design. Drawing from her background in Latin American ballroom dance and visual art, she creates non-binary silhouettes that celebrate confidence, movement, and self-expression. Through her brand Soak, founded in Ecuador in 2021, Kimberly champions social justice and a practice that is conscious with the environment by using recycled materials, natural dyes, and fair-trade collaborations with local artisans. Now based in New York and completing her MFA at Parsons, she continues to explore fashion as a space where heritage, environmental awareness, and identity converge.
