Description

“Eighteen” holds a common role within my practice; acting as a navigational guide to one small aspect of my self. I see my work as self-portraiture, each piece demonstrating some chapter of my history, often reflecting the raw and ravaging experiences of being a crippled, mad and queer woman - but also the unbridled joy and love that exists in these identities.
While my work typically stems from my lived experience, through memories, body or mind, it also considers - and aims to confront - the socio-political frameworks that uphold oppressive systems, like ableism.
